Claim Apple Music for Artists
What Apple Music for Artists gives you, what you need before claiming your artist page, the steps, and what to do if the page is wrong.
Apple Music for Artists is Apple’s dashboard for your artist page on Apple Music. Claiming it gives you the profile controls and the numbers behind your catalog.
Run’s part is the delivery: we send the release that creates the page, and a connected Apple Music profile on your artist keeps later releases landing on that same page. The claim happens on Apple’s side, with an Apple Account, and we cannot do it for you.
What claiming gives you
- Control of the artist page: your image and your milestones.
- Plays, listeners and Shazams, with where they are coming from.
Before you start
- At least one release live on Apple Music. The artist page comes into existence when Apple ingests a release, so there is nothing to claim before then. Tracking delivery shows how far a release has got.
- An Apple Account to sign in with.
- The right artist page. Open your release on Apple Music and follow the credit through to the page it points at. If two pages carry your name, that is the one to claim.
Claim it
- Open your release on Apple Music and click through to the artist page it is credited to.
- Copy that page’s link.
- In Run, open Artists, edit the artist and paste the link into its Apple Music field if it is not connected yet. Run accepts the page link, an older link with the numeric identifier in it, or the identifier on its own. See Your store pages.
- Go to Apple Music for Artists and sign in with your Apple Account.
- Claim the artist page from step 1 and follow the steps Apple shows you. Access is granted by Apple, on Apple’s terms.
After it is granted
Everything on the Apple Music page is edited there from then on.
One difference from Spotify is worth knowing. The picture on your artist card in Run is mirrored from your connected Spotify profile only, so changing your image on Apple Music changes it on Apple Music and nowhere else. If you have no Spotify profile connected, the card shows initials. Your artist picture and monthly listeners covers the rule.
Connecting the Apple Music page in Run does not change what your Apple dashboard shows. It changes where your next delivery goes, which is the part we control.
If the claim is refused, or the page is wrong
Apple decides who gets access, and Apple’s support is the route for a refusal or for two pages that should be one. We have no standing in that conversation.
Bring it to us when the problem is the delivery rather than the claim: a release credited to the wrong artist page, or a second page created beside one you already had. Open a request at Support with the release and links to both pages, and we can tell you which page identifier we delivered against. Correct the connected profile on the artist at the same time, otherwise your next release lands the same way.
