Run pays your share monthly through Talentir, based in Zurich, Switzerland. Your first payout usually arrives around three to four months after your first release goes live, as the stores report and pay in arrears.

You keep 92% on either paid plan or 70% on Free. When your first payout is ready, an email to your Run account address invites you to set up the payout account.

When you get paid

  • Your first payout usually arrives around three to four months after your first release goes live.
  • After that, you are paid every month, as the platforms report your earnings.

The sequence is plays → store report → store payment → your payout. A store counts activity after the month closes, reports it later and then pays for it. Once that cycle is running, each monthly payout covers the earnings reported and paid since the previous one.

These are the usual timings, not fixed dates. A store that reports or pays late delays its part of a payout, and what it owes you follows with the next payout after the money reaches Run.

A period can appear on Earnings before it is paid out. The page shows what the stores have reported; the payout for a period follows once the stores have paid for it. See How earnings work.

Setting up your payout account

Keep access to the email address on your Run account. Setup happens once, when your first payout is ready:

  1. When your first payout is ready, you receive an email at the address on your Run account, inviting you to set up your payout account with Talentir.
  2. Follow the link and confirm who you are. Any company that sends money has to verify who it pays, so this is a legal requirement rather than a Run check.
  3. Choose how and in which currency you want to be paid. The options cover 24 currencies, 10 stablecoins and more than 10,000 crypto tokens.
  4. Accept the terms of Talentir, which govern the payout itself.

After that, each monthly payout goes to the method you chose.

Keep the email address on your account one you actually read: the invitation goes there. Payouts go to the account that owns the releases, so in a workspace you were invited into, they go to the owner’s account and not to yours.

What Run holds, and what it does not

Your bank or wallet details, your identity documents and your tax details go to Talentir and never reach Run. To pay you, Run sends Talentir the email address on your account and the details of each payout: the amount and the reporting periods it covers. Run keeps a record of every payout it makes to you, because accounting law requires it.

What Talentir holds about you is covered by its own privacy policy. The Privacy Policy sets out exactly what Run sends it and why.

What it costs

Run charges nothing to pay you, and takes nothing from your share beyond its commission. Some payout methods and currencies can carry a charge of their own from Talentir or the payment network, and the terms of Talentir say which.

Tax

What you earn through Run is income, and declaring it where you live is your responsibility. Talentir may ask for your tax details when you set up your payout account, because the law asks it to. Where the law requires tax to be withheld from a payment, it is withheld, and you are told.

Download CSV in the Reports view of the earnings page gives an accountant the reported figures and your share, grouped by period, release, track, store or territory, and each period has a statement you can print or save.

Corrections after a payout

Stores sometimes correct a month after it has closed. If that happens to a period you have already been paid for, the difference is settled on your next payouts: added when the correction is in your favour, and deducted when it is not.

Earnings attributed to artificial streaming can be withheld, reversed or charged back, as the Anti-Fraud Policy explains, and they are settled on your payouts the same way. A payout that includes them can be held while Run finds out what happened.

Before you delete your account

Earnings reach Run months after the plays, so some can still be on their way when you delete your account. If your releases were delivered to the stores, or money is still owed to you when the deletion runs, Run keeps the email address it will pay you through: for up to 12 months after the account closes, for royalties still to be reported, and after that only while money is still owed. Then it is deleted. If you expect more to come, open a request at Support before you delete, and Run will agree with you how what you are still owed gets paid. See Your data: export and deletion.

If a payout is missing or looks wrong

  1. Check the period on Earnings. An unreported period has not been paid yet.
  2. Remember that a report can appear before the store payment arrives.
  3. If the payout still looks missing or wrong, open a support request with the reporting period and what you expected to receive.

The terms behind all of this are in the Distribution Agreement, under “Getting paid”.
